Antique Oushaks

The popularity of Oushak carpets started as far back as the 1900th century. A large number were woven for the export market. The majority were sent to England and the USA. In the late 1880's with the advent of the cross-country railways following increased trade, the demand had risen to its zenith. Large country town houses were being built and filled by treasures from Europe and the Orient. Today these carpets are as popular and as sought after as they were then.
